Stabat Mater Reviews

Zagreb / Mar 25, 2015

"The rich palette of musical expression"

"Each movement delighted in it's own way... especially the melancholic baritone solo "Quis est homo", soprano "Fac me tecum", effective and extremly rhythmical "Fac ut portem Christi mortem", and powerful "Quando corpus morietur"...

"Exuberant and appropriate musical weft on two pianos in the interpretation of composer Bruno Vlahek and also excellent pianist Dubravka Vukalović, perfectly fit in the ethereal atmosphere and religious mysticism of the work. Everything in this work is consistent  and appropriate to the beauty and artistic power of the lyrics - from beautiful melodies and themes to classical harmonies"...

Saint-Saëns Concerto Review

Zagreb / February 2, 2012

Croatian Radio & Vjesnik

"The star of the evening was Bruno Vlahek...

The key to the success of his interpretation lays not only in authoritative tone and indubitable technical artistry but also in correct comprehension and successful transmition of the scores' ambiguity. Vlahek, who is like Saint-Saëns both a pianist and composer, recognized correctly ideals which are being tributed by composer, re-interpretes them and plays with them." (Trpimir Matasovic, Croatian Radio)

Bruno Vlahek's performance was superior, virtuoso and musically convincing"
