
Domenico Scarlatti’s magnificent sonatas were composed for the Infanta, who became Queen of Spain in 1746. Among 22 sonatas on this disc, 13 of them are recently discovered masterpieces from various Italian, Spanish and Portuguese archives. Some of them are presented here for Naxos label on a first modern piano recording ever.

The idea behind the "Tower Etudes" was to make a certain modern “Gradus ad Parnassum”, where the mythological Parnassus is replaced by different peaks – high buildings. The buildings that served as an inspiration are the mythical tower of Babel, followed by contemporary buildings such as Eiffel Tower in Paris, Empire State Building in New York, Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai and Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

This album with Croatian music for Vox Primus label brings rarely played and recorded sonatas for violin and piano by 20th century composers Bruno Bjelinski and Stjepan Šulek. Bruno joins here a violinist Goran Končar who also delivers a performance of Ivo Malec's Ottava alta with Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra.
